We camped just east of Rocky Mountain National Park at a Forest Service campground on a reservoir and headed out early the next morning to try to beat some weather and get across Rocky Mountain National Park before the snow. We stopped briefly in Steamboat Springs and were amazed at the beauty of the place

. All the aspens are the most gorgeous green. It was a long and beautiful drive with a pass over 12,000 feet. Definitely up in the tundra and snow. Narrow winding road with no guardrails! We are still in shorts and sandals so are not venturing out into the cold to hike. What wimps we have become. Saw a few moose and lots of snow. We need to come back here in the summer to really see this country. We then headed into Wyoming and turned west and camped for the night at a BLM camp on the Platt river. Back

to heat and sun and we are happy.
